巷で、Windows XP と 2003 のソースコードが流出したと話題になっていて、何件か 「Windows 2000に XPの機能が追加できますね」ってメッセージを頂いているのですが、実のところこの流出したとされるコード…役に立たないのです (･ω･)
理由1.
まず、ソースコードが 暗号化された 7z になっていて、パスワードが公開されていません。

まぁ、これじゃ、確かに、本物のソースだか確認ができませんね。
理由2.
ソースコードが 2008年ごろまでメンテされていた、XP SP1 ブランチ、および Windows Server 2003 ブランチである。
実は、XP SP1 / Windows Server 2003 / Windows 2000 のソースコード体系ってあんまり変わらないのに対して、 XP SP2 / Windows Server 2003 R2 以降に、Windows 2000で実装されるはずだったのに、キャンセルされた機能が山盛り搭載されてるんですよね…。
なので、XP SP1 / Windows Server 2003 のソースが公開されても、あんまり役に立たないというか (･ω･)
そもそも、IE6 SP1 が Windows 2000を XP SP1 相当のシェルに一部機能をアップグレードする物…なので。
まぁ、やらないと思いますが、Windows 2000に XP のテーマをネイティブで乗せる改造をするとか言う改造をやる場合に役立つかもしれないというレベルです。
